We are proud of our
ability to help others

As a parent, you want to find the absolute best fit for your child and that means fully understanding your options, services, and the benefits of a daycare program.

Here I will demystify what Bilingual Friends and Family Daycare consist of. I will explain what it is and what our services and benefits are so you can make the right decision for your family.

Bilingual Friends and Family Daycare is a GROUP FAMILY DAYCARE with an Early Childhood Education and Training Program background.

As a group family daycare, we provide care for seven to twelve children at a time in my residence; may add one or two school-age children. The maximum allowable number of children will depend on whether there are and how many infants are in care.

Because of our small, intimate environment, we have many opportunities for one-on-one interaction between myself and each child, mixed age groups, and the opportunity for continuity of care (where a child stays with me. The same caregiver over a long period of time).

The nature of a group family daycare program means that children interact with peers in other age groups. A group family daycare program may care for children from infants all the way up to school age. Our mixed-age programs offer developmental benefits to younger and older children alike.

A group family daycare program usually has a small group size and a low child-to-provider ratios (lower staff-to-child ratios means a childcare provider can be more sensitive and responsive to children’s needs) At the same time, children in group care reap the social and emotional benefits of engaging with other children.

A group family daycare is a grassroots movement based in local communities. It is usually neighborhood-based. It can be close and convenient, decrease commute times, and build tighter-knit communities.,

Lastly, the cost of sending your child to a group family daycare program is often on par with other care options, such as childcare centers or preschools.

As a licensed program we had to meet particular requirements and pass an inspection process to be sure my home was safe for children

Here, at Bilingual Friends and Family Daycare we strive to stay in compliance with our state licensing requirements during our infant and toddler programs as well as during our programs for preschool-aged children, school-aged children, or mixed age programs.

Here, at Bilingual Friends and Family Daycare we spend time interacting with children with easy-to-use flexible daily English and Spanish lessons, we help you with potty training and with so much more.

We are dedicated to providing the best possible care for you and your child. Because care happens in my home, there’s low staff turnover. This creates a more stable environment for your child, and it helps build strong relationships between (you) parents and (us) the people you trust with your children.

Now, I’m sure you are thinking; Is this group family child daycare right for me?

As a parent, you are best equipped to decide what is right for you. A group family daycare program has a lot of benefits, but not every environment is the perfect fit for every child or family, so it’s worth taking the time to tour our Bilingual Friends and Family Daycare program and find out if this is the place that feels like it will work best.

Services

Health Care Plan: children receive a daily health checkup upon arrival, also hand washing upon arrival is required, as well before and after each meal. Note: we use bleach + water solution for daily sanitation.

We have a first aid kit adequately stocked.

Nap Time: all children under the age of 5 will have a rest period. No child is forced to sleep, however, they must remain quiet. Older children, and those who wake early, will participate in a quite activity until nap time is over. Please try not to schedule pick-ups or visits during this time to lessen disturbance to the resting children.

All children will rest on their mats with individual liners.

Potty Training: I will assist in potty training with the understanding that it will only work if we work together. Your child will not learn If they do not do it while in my care and at home. You must work with your child at home either during vacation or over a weekend before I begin potty
training here. Clothing should be easy to manage to encourage self-help skills. Buckles, belts, overalls and suspenders when in a hurry to use the bathroom may create a problem. I also required that each potty-training child have six changes of training pants (for sanitary reasons they require plastic pans to go over underwear or training pants) or pull-ups. Extra changes of clothing are also necessary including socks.
